2-day Blanket Basket workshop Aberdeen

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

In this two-day workshop you will have the opportunity to learn how to make a blanket basket with handles.  We will be working from 10am till around 3/4pm each day with plenty of time to discuss techniques and work on our baskets.

I will guide you through the process of selecting your willow, weaving the base and some techniques for weaving the sides and folding down a border.  There will be plenty of scope for you to play around with the shape and make a basket of your choosing.  Please note- colours of willow will vary depending on what varieties are available on the day.

This will be a small class of around 6 people so there will be plenty of time for questions and one-to-one tuition.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those who have tried a bit of basket weaving before.  Please be aware, willow weaving can be hard work for the hands so may not be suitable for those with weaker hands or problems with arthritis.  I f you are concerned at all please feel free to contact me.

VENUE

This two-day workshop will be held at The Anatomy Rooms, Marischal College. With a warm and welcoming room, the creative hub of All In Ideas & Arkade Studios is a great place to come and learn how to weave your very own basket.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

All materials and tools will be provided as well as teas, coffee and cakes.  Please bring along a packed lunch

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before start date.  Tickets are non-transferable.

In the unlikely event the workshop needs to be cancelled then a full refund will be given.
