2-day Weaving Weekend

In this two-day workshop you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the ancient craft of willow weaving.  We will be working from 10am till around 3pm/4pm each day with plenty of time to discuss techniques and work on our baskets.

I will guide you through the process of selecting your willow, weaving the base and some techniques for weaving the sides and folding down a border.  We will talk about shaping your basket and the different ways you can add a handle (your choice of a leather handle or a more traditional willow one).  

This will be a small class of around 6 people so there will be plenty of time for questions and one-to-one tuition.

In this workshop we will be learning to make a curvy shopping/foraging basket with handle.  This workshop is suitable for the keen beginner and those who have tried a bit of basket weaving before.  Please be aware, willow weaving can be hard work for the hands so may not be suitable for those with weaker hands or problems with arthritis 

VENUE

This is a two-day workshop on 9th/10th September

This workshop will take place in the gorgeous village of Udny Green. in the village hall which is next door to the popular restaurant Eat On The Green.  There is plenty free parking in front of the hall and around the village.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

All materials and tools will be supplied, as well as tea, coffee and biscuits, but please bring along a packed lunch.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before start date.  Tickets are non-transferable.

In the unlikely event the workshop needs to be cancelled then a full refund will be given.  Workshops may be cancelled if there are insufficient numbers
