Time & Location
16 Mar 2024, 10:00 – 16:00
Kirk Centre- Upper Room, Station Rd, Ellon AB41 9AE, UK
What you will learn
In this day-long workshop you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the ancient craft of willow weaving.
In this friendly workshop we will be learning to make a small asymmetrical basket with handle.
I will guide you through the process of selecting your willow, weaving the base and some basic techniques for weaving the sides and folding down a border. We will talk about shaping your basket and the different ways you can add a handle. This will be a small class of around 6 people so there will be plenty of time for questions and one-to-one tuition.
The workshop will take place in Ellon, upstairs in the Kirk Centre (The Upper Room)
EXPERIENCE LEVEL
This workshop is suitable for beginners and those who have tried a bit of basket weaving before. Please be aware that willow weaving can be hard work for the hands and may not…
